Here's my Whey in

When you are trying to lose weight it is important to get enough protein in your diet. Protein makes you feel full longer and provides your body with a lot of essential nutrients that it needs. Protein can be found in many sources. One of the ways I get protein is through Whey Protein Powder. I usually make a shake with the Whey for breakfast. There are numerous combinations of shakes that you can make that are pretty delish. In some of my future posts I will give you some of the recipes I personally like and enjoy. I must advise that all Whey IS NOT created equal. There is good Whey and there is crappy Whey. I have tried several different brands so far and I have definitely tasted a difference. The most expensive is not necessarily the best tasting. In addition, there are many different flavors to Whey. I will share with you some of my reviews of the products I have tried in my upcoming posts so stayed tuned.

Common Myths Dispelled

In order to achieve my goal, I will share my workout routine with you. I workout five days a week (Monday-Friday). The weekend is my time to do things that I like to do! So create a schedule you can commit to. I knew I could do this and that I would want a break on the weekends. I do three days a week of intense cardio ( if you don't feel like hell while doing it, you are probably not doing it right) and two days a week of strength training. The biggest myth women have about working out is that cardio is the answer to all of your problems. Cardio will only take you so far, you might see weight come off but you won't necessarily just be losing fat you will also lose muscle. You do not want to lose muscle, otherwise you will be just a smaller version of yourself which is not what you want. You want to have a lot of lean muscle tissue because muscle burns WAY more calories than fat. In order to gain lean muscle you need to lift weights. Another popular myth that women have is they think that if they lift weights they are going to become "big". This is NOT possible because unlike men we do not produce large amounts of testosterone. So do not be afraid to do some strength training. Personally, I prefer lifting weights and if that was all I had to do I would be thrilled!

Goals

Here's my goal: I am looking to lose 24 pounds of fat and to gain several pounds of muscle. I want to look lean, trim, toned, and healthy!

Welcome

Hi everyone! I have created my blog Cinch by the Inch to help others like me who want to become healthy and fit. However, I am not your typical fitness guru. This blog is a real person's take on how to get in shape. I plan on sharing my struggles and more importantly my successes. I am a real person just like you who has cravings and who hates to do cardio. So I figured if I was going to get in shape and healthy I had to do it the right way (through diet, exercise, and smart choices). Along the way, I will share exercises, eating tips, recipes, and products that I have personally tried and reviewed myself. If I haven't personally tried it, then you won't hear me talk about it. I personally LOVE food and if I am changing my eating habits, my motto is I wouldn't recommend it if I wouldn't eat it myself. So please check out my blog for updates on all of these important health tips. I look forward to sharing my journey with you!
