Common Myths Dispelled

In order to achieve my goal, I will share my workout routine with you. I workout five days a week (Monday-Friday). The weekend is my time to do things that I like to do! So create a schedule you can commit to. I knew I could do this and that I would want a break on the weekends. I do three days a week of intense cardio ( if you don't feel like hell while doing it, you are probably not doing it right) and two days a week of strength training. The biggest myth women have about working out is that cardio is the answer to all of your problems. Cardio will only take you so far, you might see weight come off but you won't necessarily just be losing fat you will also lose muscle. You do not want to lose muscle, otherwise you will be just a smaller version of yourself which is not what you want. You want to have a lot of lean muscle tissue because muscle burns WAY more calories than fat. In order to gain lean muscle you need to lift weights. Another popular myth that women have is they think that if they lift weights they are going to become "big". This is NOT possible because unlike men we do not produce large amounts of testosterone. So do not be afraid to do some strength training. Personally, I prefer lifting weights and if that was all I had to do I would be thrilled!
